Eve Hill Flats

I lived on top floor Millfield 114 from 87-95.. my nephew next door my brother top floor 118 Prince of Wales..till they demolished these two. We faced West..and continually scanned the horizons every day..By moving one's head slightly one literally took in 138 miles of landscape.. We continually utilised telescopes or radio masts to enhance these quite unique 'skyhomes'

48 mile North to Peak District 70-80 mile West to Snowdonia 60-70 mile SW to heads of South Wales valleys or area around Severn Bridges 25-35 miles East past Burton on Trent power Station and Leicestershire etc...apart from practically the entire Black Country.. Some carnage up there ..drug dealers stabbed in chest..animals shoved down rubbish shoots..some people jumping off top..maniacs chucking entire furniture through windows from 17th floor..knickers on lines ending up near 'Top Church' some sunbathing nude on roof.

I was even filming a pop video on roof when we filmed fire engines approaching..(somebody thought we were having a group suicide event!!) Loads of times being locked in lifts..quite a few fires..I ended up in 'Jimmy the Con's' old flat (wall in pieces from his body building..) next to The 'Star' Tony Dogs..Carr..! Featured on Led Zeppelin album cover as well of course..

Heard of one guy climbing OUT of the living room window on the 19th..200ft high and SCALING on his fingertips to bedroom window.

.Hawks used to love to surprise bomb hapless pigeons (exploding feathers..) by utilising our two blocks..

Our Dad lived up Butterfield for a few years also. I remember in the mid sixties these blocks shooting up from the Priory Estate.. So..a few moments amidst many..
